Happy Thanksgiving
Anyway, this Thursday (November 23rd) is Thanksgiving for those of us here in the USA, and I wanted to use my blog to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving holiday. Most businesses offer employees both Thursday and Friday as holidays, unless, of course, you are a bank or a retailer. The Friday after Thanksgiving is traditionally the kick-off of the Christmas shopping season and the day is always an orgy of sales and spending (yes, I usually stay home to avoid the crowds).
On Thursday most of us well eat turkey & stuffing & pumpkin pie -- and watch the Macy's parade and as much football as we can (well, the men do). But we should also take a few moments to reflect and be thankful for all that we have. Let me challenge you, dear reader, to actually take the time to personally thank those most important to you for all that they do for you each and every day, and for what they mean to your life.
As I look back over the past year, this Thanksgiving I am thankful for the exciting year I've had. I've traveled all across the USA and to Europe. I'm thankful to have a new employer, NEON Enterprise Software, which has brought me many new friendships, as well as new professional opportunities.
I am also very thankful for my wonderful, and supportive, wife, Beth. Having her by my side makes it easy to deal with whatever life throws my way.
And I am thankful to have so many faithful readers of my books, blogs, and articles. I enjoy writing and it always thrills me when I run into someone who tells me about how something I wrote helped them do their job better.
Here's wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving.
