IDUG in Tampa: May 7-11, 2006 IDUG in Tampa: May 7-11, 2006

There is still time to plan a trip to Tampa for the North American International DB2 User's Group conference.
As anyone who has ever attended an IDUG event knows, there is a lot of knowledge that passes hands during an IDUG event. And this year's North American conference should be no exception to that rule. Especially now that IBM has officially announced the beta program for DB2 for z/OS Version 9. I bet there will be a lot of information shared about that in Tampa!

I will be attending the show and presenting - both in a vendor-sponsored session on Monday, and in a traditional session on Thursday. The Thursday session is on the topic of nulls. Nulls are clearly one of the most misunderstood features of DB2 – indeed, of most SQL database systems. Although nulls can be confusing, you cannot bury your head in the sand and ignore nulls if you choose to use DB2 as your DBMS. Understanding what nulls are, and how best to use them, can help you to create usable DB2 databases and design useful and correct queries in your DB2 applications. This session is titled "Null and Void? Dealing with Nulls in DB2" and it will be held on Thursday, May 11th, at 8:30 AM.

So if you have not already registered for IDUG, take a moment to consider all there is to learn at such an event. And if you can, find a way to get to Tampa the week of May 7th thru May 11th.

Information on the North Americam IDUG confernece can be found at this link.
